DiKAS runs locally in your business – fast, tax-compliant till operation happens on your hardware on site. In addition, your data is automatically backed up to the cloud. That gives you the best of both worlds, without having to rely on a pure cloud solution.

Local: fast and independent of the internet

DiKAS runs directly in your business. The till responds instantly, even in a full house – and on site your local Wi-Fi is enough, no internet connection is needed for that. If the internet line goes down, you simply keep ringing up sales on the local network.

Note: The network (Wi-Fi/LAN) and internet connection in your business are your own infrastructure – their setup and operation are not provided by Weidev GmbH and may incur additional costs.

Important: the TSE signature and receipt printing run via the local hardware. Full, legally compliant till operation therefore happens on site – not in the cloud.

Cloud: backup and insight from anywhere

In parallel, DiKAS backs up your data to the cloud automatically. As long as internet is available, you see from anywhere what’s happening in the business – from the office, from home or on the go: check sales, maintain items, view reports. In the cloud, however, no TSE and no receipt printer are available – it’s meant for analysis, administration and emergencies, not for regular till operation.

Stay able to act in an emergency

That’s the real anchor of calm: your data automatically sits in the cloud as well. If the local hardware breaks or the power goes out – PC defective, tablet dropped, power failure – all data is still there. From the cloud you can see what’s still open on the tables, keep an overview and still settle up with your guests in an emergency. As soon as the local system is running again, TSE-signed normal operation continues too.

With purely local tills, a hardware failure often means losing days or weeks of data. DiKAS, by contrast, backs up automatically – your data set is never on just one device.

Runs on any hardware with a browser

Because DiKAS runs in the browser, you don’t need a special device: PC, Mac, tablet, smartphone or a low-cost POS terminal – anything that can display a web page is a DiKAS till. No iPad lock-in, no expensive special hardware you can only get from one provider.

Full data sovereignty on request

Want everything in your own hands? DiKAS is also available as your own Linux appliance (Arch-based) for self-hosting on your own hardware or as a server VM – with the same synchronization and backup.
